Fabric!!!

Found this fabric on Monday. I love the patterns, these will be used to make some burp cloths. I like to use patterns that aren't necessarily meant for babies.

When I make my cloths I usually just buy gerber burp cloths then sew the fabric detail onto the center, 1/2 to 3/4 of a yard will make about 7 burp cloths.

1. Make sure you prewash everything, especially the burp cloths because they tend to shrink.
2.Iron out the wrinkles in both the fabric and the burp cloths.
3. My fabric I usually cut to 6" wide(you could make this as wide or smaller if you like). Trimming the ends will come in a little bit.
4.Fold each side in 1/4 inch and iron so it lays flat then pin to center of burp cloth lengthwise.
5. Now trim the ends, i generally leave an inch on each end, fold it over once and iron, then fold onto opposite side of burp cloth and pin in place. Repeat with other end.
6. Sew everything trying to keep as close to the edge as possible.
All Finished!! These are great to give as gifts or make for your own little one and they're so simple to do.
Hopefully I'll get to the other fabric today, right now I'm in the process of dyeing the burp cloths to coordinate with the pink stripes and birds. Like I said you can do pretty much anything with these to make them you're own and you know it'll be something handmade with love that no one else is likely to have.
